Hummus

Ingredients are ambiguous.

I just had a snack. Crackers with some hummus. I like hummus. This particular variety of hummus was "40 Spices." Naturally, I was curious as to what the 40 spices were that went into making this tasty hummus. I glanced at the ingredients on the package: "Chick peas...blah, blah...Spices...blah, blah..."

Um, "spices?" So, in my 40 spice hummus the 40 spices are listed as "spices." Um...gee thanks. The world will never know.

Why do they call it hummus? Why not Ground Chick Peas, or Chick Pea Puree. Hummus?

Hummus - from Turkish word humus meaning "mashed chick peas."
