Pre-Turkey gliding!

(More blog entries from eli)

Anytime mid November xc fits into the picture, one has to like the weather signs. There's nothing like an early taste of winter terrain and all this before the football gobble day sets in with it's yacht full of turkey, treats and couch-bound snoozes! Classic xc skiing was the name of the game with this latest covering of white.....and with snowy weighted evergreens, drifted snow and enough biting November wind to rival a Shakelton expedition....really, what better way to chime in a new ski season? While the rock ski session brought me off the property , it won't be long before the GGT landscape sees my tracks.   Mild rollerskiing to cold snow gliding and all in a couple day span....the 25 degrees and whipping wind sure wakes the nordic soul and it's all a touch different from your average pavement roll. Bring on this air from the northern tier!....because training is there for the taking even in the wildest of weather. Let's just say the likes of Vittoz, Hanevold and Tchepikov aren't exactly giving in to the lure of a bucket of tasty Cheese-Its and a warm inviting chair when a frigid breeze hits their scalp and a nagging northern chill arises! Get out there and make it happen and have some fun too.  And if those above names surface puzzled guesses of 19th century composers or Manhattan Fashion designers then break out those Torino videos and get with it there nordic enthusiasts!   Oh...and while you're up pass over those Cheese-Its there buddy,  there's just gotta be something in those little orange squares that these training-zapped muscles could use.
