It's Always Different
"I've never seen that before."
Once again, the skiing was too nice to stay inside. I verntured out for a short ski this afternoon. While skiing up Dragon Corridor (seems like I'm always skiing down it lately) I noticed a small stream just off the side of the trail that I'd never seen before. I'm not sure how it caught my eye. Perhaps it was the new snow on the ice. Maybe it was just because I was skiing easy and looking around. It was really pretty.
This reminded me about one of the great things about being outside, skiing or otherwise: it's always different. Weather, light, snow, wind—they all contribute to making a familiar place different each time you see it. Such was the case today. I've skied Dragon Corridor more times than I could count, but I still saw something new. Don't miss the little things.

The wildflowers and birding at Great Glen Trails are phenomenal.
