Clearing the Road
The crew is hard at work.
I was able to take a ride up the Road yesterday to get a look at the progress that has been made. So far, the crew has cleared approximately 4.75 of the Road. By "cleared," I mean that the top level of snow has been removed and the culverts are clear. We can drive a 2-wheel-drive vehicle to 2-Mile Park, but we're still using 4-wheel-drive with chains above that point.
Here's what it looks like:
Progress has been good, but now they're up into the big snowdrifts. Even with the bulldozer, progress is going to be slow. Steady, but slow. For instance, yesterday, the crew was only able to get about 500 feet cleared. Needless to say, we have a lot of work ahead of us. Estimates for further up the Road, specifically at Cragway, put the snowbanks at 30 thirty feet. That's a lot of snow.
We'll keep plugging away, and we'll have more updates to you as we keep on moving up.

I am amazed at the way you guys go after he snow up there. 30 Ft. snowdrifts ? That's incredible. My hat is off to you. Keep up the good work. But be careful
