Still Working?

(More blog entries from ryan)

"So, what's going on?"

That's been the question I've received quite a bit over the last couple days. And to answer that question: We're still working.

I guess that seems like a simple and obvious answer, but that's the truth. We don't have a whole lot new to report. And, really, none of it is as exciting or dramatic as what you saw from Cragway. Mostly, it just road repairs right now. The sections of Road at higher elevations are at a disadvantage: they aren't covered with snow. The snow actually protects the Road from damage over the winter. At higher elevations, the Road is subject to wind, ice, sun, thaw, freeze and the nastiness of the extreme winter weather on Mt. Washington. Trust me, if you laid out there all winter, you wouldn't look so good either. So, we're making the necessary repairs.

I'm planning to make a trip up the Road tomorrow, so I'll post some pictures of what's going on.

Are you still guessing third week of May to clear the road all the way to the top?

Right now, we're guessing it's closer to Memorial Day weekend. Check my latest post.
