Don't miss this time of the year on the water!

Saturday September 13, three women set out on a guided tour to paddle the Magalloway River, Lake Umbagog, and the Androscoggin River.  Each with different levels of paddling background, they made the trip with no problems.
This trip is offered on a daily basis through Great Glen Trails, but was unique this Saturday in that it was cross promoted through the AMC.  I couldn't believe the low attendance on this beautiful day.
Not only was their few people on our trip, but the lake and river were practically empty of people.  We saw Bald Eagles, an unidentified hawk, Merganser Ducks, Woodpeckers, Kingfishers, lots of Loons and many other birds along the way.
Sue and I will continue to offer 1/2 and full day foliage paddling trips through Columbus Day Weekend as long as temperatures permit.  This trip started out with temps in the upper 60's and finished with 70's.

Hey Nate, Thanks for the boat. The portage around the upper dam was a little easier river left.Did a figure eight of Students and Toothaker. Next day went up to Farrington and Shelter Island on Mooselook. The "Red Tomato", the name of my new kayak handled well in the chop, good volume for my gear and comfortable for the long day. Thanks for everything. Nice steep creeking video. Jim
