Thirty days away

You want me to do what?

The 24 Hours of Great Glen is 30 days away. That's got one staggering, monster reputation. What kind of person can withstand riding around the clock at the base of the Beast of the East? Hundreds have done it. They have dealt with logistics, sleep deprivation, tortuous miles, fearsome weather and mechanical maladies  that defy believability. I'm sure there are those who have been training for months, paying attention to proper nutrition, getting the inside scoop on gear ratios and shaving off that nuisance weight that no one need carry on a bike in the woods. Train? If need be I can probably catch one out of Portland to Boston. I prefer to prepare for this ride. Time to start thinking about riding. Now where's my bike?

Good Luck Marty! You will have a blast with the race. A little hint, get a good 'team' cook to prepare food for you and you'll be well ahead of the game. I think you might know where to find a good chef...

Thanks Ian. You're right about finding a good team cook. For years, I've been trying to answer that cryptic question all cyclists ask themselves: Do I eat to ride or do I ride to eat? I'm happy to report my journey to answer that question continues.
