Marty Basch Signs on as Official Blogger of the 24 Hours of Great Glen

(More news)
Pinkham Notch, NH—Writer, lecturer and adventurer, Marty Basch will be the official blogger for the 12th Annual 24 Hours of Great Glen at Great Glen Trails on August 11 & 12, 2007.

Basch has written six books, including the recently published second edition of The White Mountain Ride Guide, and is a freelance writer for magazines and newspapers. Well-known for his tales of two-legged adventure, Basch has cycled and skied throughout the United States, Canada and beyond. But, he has never ridden in the 24 Hours of Great Glen.

Basch’s blog will focus on the fun of preparing for the event, a live report during the event, and a post event wrap-up.

“We’re excited to be able to capture the entire spirit of the event in a blog,” said Great Glen Trails Marketing Director, Ryan Triffitt. “Marty is the right person to show everyone that with the right attitude, anyone can ride the 24 Hours of Great Glen.”

The 24 Hours of Great Glen is the premier 24-hour mountain bike race in the Northeast. Now in it’s 12th year, the 24 Hours of Great Glen begins at noon on August 11 and runs until noon on August 12. Competitors race around the clock and may compete solo or in teams of 2, 4 or 5 for a total purse of more than $10,000 in cash and prizes. Not just a mountain bike race, the 24 Hours of Great Glen is a weekend-long event for the whole family with contests and games, including the 24 Minutes of Great Glen—a mountain bike race for the kids.

Basch’s blogging experience will begin one month before the race starts on July 12, 2007. It will be available at www.24HoursOfGreatGlen.com and www.greatglentrails.com. To learn more about Basch visit, www.martybasch.com.
