Mt. Washington Nordic Club Junior Development Program hosted by Great Glen Trails and Jackson XC

Pinkham Notch, NH—Great Glen Trails and Jackson XC are pleased to announce they will be hosting the Mt. Washington Nordic Club Junior Development Program for the 2008/2009 winter season. Designed to develop Nordic skiing skills in juniors ages 12-18, the program meets on 8 dates throughout the fall and winter, and all participants receive a season pass to both Great Glen Trails and Jackson XC.

The Junior Development Program focuses on technique and fitness development for aspiring skiers ages 12-18. The program includes high-level coaching, ski skills development in both freestyle and classic technique and fun. The Junior Development Program strives to develop young skiers by teaching them to truly love the sport. The development of young skiers not only helps make them skiers for life, but it also helps them become better skiers and better ski racers. It's the perfect program for skiers looking to grow their skiing through personal attention and focused work. The program uses games designed to not only teach skills and teamwork, but also to have fun and mix it up.

Throughout the winter season, the program will alternate locations between each session. Program price includes a season pass for both touring centers. Program is on Sundays from 12:30pm - 3:00pm.

Program Schedule:
Great Glen Trails: 11/2, 12/14, 1/11, 2/1
Jackson XC: 11/23, 12/28, 1/25, 2/15

Program includes:
•    2008-2009 Season passes for both Great Glen Trails and Jackson XC
•    Two and a half hours of instructional skiing in each session
•    Special Team pricing on equipment purchases at Great Glen Outfitters

Rates:
Entire season: $200, which includes season passes for both Great Glen Trails and Jackson XC
Single day: $25, plus trail pass

The Junior Program features two coaches: Steve Vosburgh and Pete Brockett.

Steve Vosburgh has spent the last 20+ years coaching Nordic skiers in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine. He will utilize video and other teaching resources to create a valuable learning experience. Steve is an active master skier and bike racer.

Pete Brockett, a Gorham resident, joined Great Glen’s staff in ’02 as a ski instructor. He also has assisted with coaching skiers at Gorham High School.
