On a spectacularly clear day on Mt. Washington, 2006 Olympian Justin Freeman of New Hampton, NH and the Factory Team won his third consecutive Ski to the Clouds. Kirsten Gill from Lewiston, ME and Bates College was the top woman.

On Saturday, March 6, Great Glen Trails will host the final Family Snow Day of the 2009/2010 winter season. Just like the first two days, this Family Snow Day is a low-key, fun-filled day full of on snow activities that the entire family can enjoy together.
On Sunday, March 7, 2010, Great Glen Trails will host Ski to the Clouds presented by Maxiglide with $1400 in cash prizes up for grabs. Ski to the Clouds features a 6-kilometer climb up Mt. Washington making it North America’s Toughest 10k.

On Saturday, February 6, Great Glen Trails is excited to be hosting its second Family Snow Day of the winter season. Family Snow Days are low-key, fun-filled days full of on snow activities that the entire family can enjoy together.
On Tuesday, January 5, 2010, Nordic Meisters, the largest weekly cross country race series in the United States, begins its fifteenth season at Great Glen Trails. Racers will compete for more than $5,000 in prizes. The series will also feature a snowshoe division in 2010.
On Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17, 2010, Great Glen Trails will host Women’s Winter Escape, a weekend getaway for women designed to provide relaxation and fun on the snow.
On Saturday, December 12, 2009, Great Glen Trails hosted the Atomic Sprints at Great Glen, the first cross country ski race in New Hampshire this season. Skiers from Bates College took first place in both the men’s and women’s divisions. More than $1,000 in prizes were award to the top skiers.
Thanks to more than 15 inches of new snow, Great Glen Trails will host the Atomic Sprints, the first cross country ski race in New Hampshire for the 2009/2010 winter season on Saturday, December 12 at noon. More than $1,000 in prizes will be awarded to the top skiers.
Great Glen Trails will open the 2009/2010 winter season on Thursday, December 10, 2009. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing will be available on 28 kilometers.
For three weeks in December, Great Glen Trails will host the Nordic Warm Up—a fitness program designed to get cross country skiers ready for the season. The Nordic Warm Up will be held on Tuesdays, December 8, 15 and 22 at 10:00am.
On Saturday, November 28, Great Glen Trails will host its annual craft fair from 9:00 – 3:00pm. The Great Glen Craft Fair will feature more than 30 crafters, live demonstrations and a raffle and bake sale to benefit the Great Glen Bill Koch Club.
For the 2009/2010 winter season, Great Glen Trails is once again offering residents of Coos County season passes at 50% off, if it is the first time they have purchased a season pass at Great Glen Trails. Additionally, Great Glen Trails is offering free season passes to children ages 17 and under when that child’s parent or guardian purchases a season pass.
A beautiful weekend was the setting for exciting bike racing at the Porky Gulch Classic, hosted by Great Glen Trails. Returning to the race after finishing in fourth place in 2008, Ryan Littlefield of Scarborough, ME was the overall winner claiming the title of New England’s Best All Around Cyclist. Danielle Ruane of Webster, NH was named champion for the women.
The best all-around cyclist in New England will be crowned on Saturday & Sunday, November 7 & 8 at Great Glen Trails during the Porky Gulch Classic. Three stages over two days, the Porky Gulch Classic combines a hillclimb, criterium and cyclocross to make the most unique cycling race in New England.
Great Glen Trails is opening a new snowshoe trail and adding family programs for 2009/2010.
On Thursday, September 3, 2009, the Salomon Fall Trail Running Series presented by Smartwool kicks off at Great Glen Trails. The series runs for six weeks through October 8, and runners and walkers can log their time between 3:30pm and 6:30pm.
The wildflowers and birding at Great Glen Trails are phenomenal.
