Wildflower Watch 2
Jack is back!
I went out for a walk around the glen at lunch time today and can give a wildflower update. I unfortunately did not have a camera with me, I did take photos with my cell phone but up here in the notch I cannot email myself the photo. The Jack-in-the-Pulpits are back on Clementine and the Golden Alexanders are starting to color the meadow. Other flowers popping up are False Solomon's Seal, Raspberries, two flowers whose names I have forgotten, one is a tiny singular dark purple flower with a yellow center (I know it is not a Bluet or a Forget-Me-Not )and those little white flowers that carpet the forest floor this time of year...I know, I should know this one! Can anyone tell me those?

Sorry Ryan, I should have described it better. They have one oval shaped leaf and upon close inspection the flower part is made up of a cluster of small white flowers, kind of spire like.

Are you sure they're not bluets? That's what they looked like as I panted my way by them this afternoon during the trail running series.

I think they're Canada Mayflowers.

I thought that was a moving company?!?! I'm a terrible naturalist. But, I did see a cedar waxwing the other day...that's a bird, right?

That's right! They are Canada Mayflower, thanks Howie!
The wildflowers and birding at Great Glen Trails are phenomenal.
