RU making this up?

(More blog entries from marty)

Prediction. Come this weekend, I predict Team RSN (Rather Ski Now, though during other times of the year it's Resort Sports Network) will not come in first. The team is comprised of a consortium of cyclists of various talents: Krissy Fraser, Hannes Schneider, Al Hospers, Hans Bauer and myself. Al's the only one of the foolish five to have ridden in this event before. He's a road riding demon and a wicked good bass player (he hosts Hoot Night at the Wildcat Tavern). Last month, and I'm not making this up, Bauer ran 129 miles in one day. He once - and I'm not making this up - pedaled in all six New England states within 24 hours. He's a wicked good runner.  Schneider's grandfather is the "father of modern skiing" whose statue can be seen in North Conway. Schneider is also a wicked good skier. Fraser's a wicked good blonde (skier) and works at a ski area. I'm the bearded bald guy you'll be passing a lot. Wicked. And I'm not making that up.

you could win the catagory with the most facinating people with great stories. Proulx and I were talking and we think you should just give Hans a tiny bike that he can strap to his back and he just runs all his laps. Good luck this weekend! Sven (the other RSN team)

And hopefully Sven will win the solo category. He's doing it for the first time. But it's his 11th time in the race.

Hey that makes me wonder... Why am I starting the Le Mans start and not our "good" runner? Oh yah, I remember...

Anybody else out there with a few characters on their team? I hear there's one with a guy who did that Race Across America. I remember a team from last year where every hour, they would bake cookies. Mmm. Cookies. Got time today. It's raining.

Marty- thanks for the unfounded belief in my ability- I'm confident I can win the "solo SS rigid green bike yellow shoes red helmet from center conway done the race a bunch of times used to work at ggtoc then rsn then attitash now gg and is alergic to kiwi" catagory (I hope I made that specific enough that I'm the only person in the galaxy that can compete- let alone win!

If anyone knows someone looking to do the race please have them email me at ryder0708@hotmail.com. My name is Todd and our team is Dog's Speed. Thank you : - )

If Hans is going to ride a tiny bike, your whole team has to live here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVTfGJnOpqs That would be AWESOME!

Mesaage to Sven
by Sven on Aug 11th 2007, 10:40 pm

Hi, Sven. My name is also Sven. I am also riding solo in the rigid single speed category. My bike is green. I only own one set of riding attire, and it consists of yellow shoes and a red helmet. I just moved to center conway, I've done the race a bunch of times and used to work at ggtoc then rsn then attitash now gg. I am deathly allergic to kiwi. So, looks like you'll be coming in second. P.S. Does wearing yellow shoes make you feel as awkward in public as it makes me?
