Pinkham Notch, NH—Great Glen Trails offers a variety of events throughout the winter.

Saturday, December 8, 2007: Atomic Sprints at Great Glen
The snowguns will ensure that Great Glen Trails will hold the first race of the season in what has become an early season test of fitness. Racers from high school, college and other teams descend on Great Glen Trails in the fastest event on skinny skis.

Tuesdays, January 8 – March 4, 2008: Nordic Meisters
The largest weekly cross country race series in the country is back for its thirteenth season. Each week competitors of all abilities challenge themselves on a 5 kilometer course. The series concludes with a potluck dinner and huge prize raffle.

Saturday & Sunday, January 19 & 20, 2008: Women’s Winter Fun
A special weekend just for women. The weekend begins with dinner, wine tasting and a functional fashion show. During the day we will offer special ski clinics taught by women for women for all ability levels. Other activities include yoga, massage, snowshoe tours and dogsled rides.

Sunday, February 10, 2008: Great Glen Nordic 300
It’s the ultimate test of endurance: 300 minutes of Nordic skiing. Complete as many laps as possible on the rolling 5 kilometer course. Ski it solo. Ski it as a duo. Skate or classic. Burn rubber on skis and tear up the tracks! Complete race information available at www.Nordic300.com.

Sunday, March 9, 2008: Ski to the Clouds
North America’s Toughest 10K. Raced on the trails at Great Glen Trails and then up to the finish at treeline on the Mt. Washington Auto Road, Ski to the Clouds includes a climb of more than 2200 vertical feet over the final 6 kilometers. The race is a true freestyle event: skiers can use either skating or classic technique. Complete race information available at www.SkiToTheClouds.com.

Saturday, March 15, 2008: Carl Johnson Memorial Freestyle Race
A fun race with prizes for loudest tights, mystery time (guess your time) and fastest skate and classic time. All proceeds go to the ALS Association. You don't have to be a great racer you just have to like fun! Costumes are required, but you’ll stand out if you don’t have one.

Sunday, March 16, 2008:  St. Paddy’s Duathlon
The race begins with a classic leg immediately followed by a skate leg. The clock keeps running in this 10k race. The hottest race format on the World Cup circuit, Great Glen Trails brings it to New England. Look out for the leprechaun.
