Great Glen Trails Closes for the Season

(More news)

Pinkham Notch, NH—On Sunday, March 30, Great Glen Trails closed for the 2007/2008 winter season marking the end of the outdoor center’s 14th year of operation.

This winter, Great Glen Trails received more than 200 inches of snow—a near record total. Early snowfall and snowmaking efforts allowed Great Glen Trails to open on December 4, 2007, and March 30th marked the 118th and final day of operation for the season. Along with cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snow tubing, the SnowCoach is now closed for the season.

Efforts in Pinkham Notch now turn to the opening of the Mt. Washington Auto Road for its 147th season, which will begin in May. Great Glen Trails will also reopen for summer operations, biking and kayaking, in May. As always, Great Glen Trails will feature a full event calendar this summer with one event per week from May 15 through November 16, including There’s a Black Fly in My Eye 15k Trail Race & Relay in June and the 24 Hours of Great Glen in August.
