On Saturday, March 15 at 1:30p.m., Great Glen Trails will host the Carl Johnson Memorial 5k cross country ski race to benefit the ALS Foundation.

On Sunday, March 16 at 10:00a.m., Great Glen Trails will host the St. Paddy’s Duathlon cross country ski race, featuring the hottest race format on the World Cup circuit.

Ski to the Clouds presented Maxigide has reached its limit on entrants. Billed as “North America’s Toughest 10k,” this Nordic ski race up Mt. Washington now has its field set at 100 racers for Sunday, March 9, 2008.

On Sunday March 9, 2008, Great Glen Trails will host Ski to the Clouds: North America’s Toughest 10k presented by Maxiglide. The event is limited to 100 racers, and with less than a month to go, the field is nearly full.

When the cannon sounded at 10:00 a.m. for the start of the Great Glen Nordic 300 at Great Glen Trails in Pinkham Notch, NH, the skies were clear and sunny. By the time the cannon fired at 3:00 p.m. signaling the end of the race, heavy snow and wind was in the face of every competitor.

From February 17-19, 2008, Great Glen Trails will be offering a special vacation week ski camp for kids called Penguins & Polar Bears. Penguins are children ages 6-8, and Polar Bears are children ages 9-11.

On February 10, 2008, Great Glen Trails hosts the Great Glen Nordic 300, 300 consecutive minutes of cross country ski racing.

Nordic Meisters began its thirteenth season yesterday on a balmy day at Great Glen Trails, and the new non-timed category was a success.

On January 19-20, 2008, Great Glen Trails will host Women’s Winter Escape, a special snow country getaway for women.

Nordic Meisters, the largest weekly cross country ski race series in the country, kicks off on Tuesday, January 8. For eight weeks, skiers of all abilities challenge themselves with prizes awarded in age categories and through a raffle. For 2008, an untimed category has been added for those who want to enjoy the series but not the pressure that can come with racing.

New for the 2007/2008 winter season at Great Glen Trails are evening dogsledding tours. In a partnership with New England Dogsledding, Great Glen Trails will be offering dogsled tours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

During Christmas and February vacation weeks, Great Glen Trails will be hosting new cross country ski camps for kids called Penguins and Polar Bears. Penguins are children ages 6-8, and Polar Bears are children ages 9-11. Both camps focus on games and fun, while teaching cross country ski basics.

Olympic cross country skier, Sue Wemyss has been named Ski School Director at Great Glen Trails.

Great Glen Trails hosted the Atomic Sprints on Saturday, December 8 with a record turnout. Skiers from Dartmouth College won both the Men’s and Women’s Divisions.

Great Glen Trails will open the one-of-a-kind SnowCoach on Saturday, December 8, 2007. The SnowCoach brings passengers up to treeline on the Mt. Washington Auto Road to experience winter on Mt. Washington.
