It looks good at the moment as it has been a dry summer. There are a number of new bog bridges being built on Peacemaker and Wilding to improve the rideability if there is any mud. Also there is work being done on the trails up past Honeymoon that had to be excluded last year because of trail condition. Once this work is done it should really improve things. They have already completed a new exit of of Moose Alley that is a significant improvement, as well as re-routing one of the switchbacks on the blueberry hill that keeps us clear of the "swamp turn" (however it means part of the climb has a bit more bite as it is steeper).
I haven't ridden all this new wood work as it is being done now- but did see all the supplies out at the various trail heads and hope to get out and give it a run next week.
That being said for anyone who has never done a 24, know that the course changes over the course of the race. A dry tacky course can become a bit greasy at night, and all parts of the course will "groove in"- however don't be afraid to try lines that don't look like they have seen a lot of traffic. I know last year by Sunday morning I was trying a lot of new lines that hadn't seen much traffic and was wishing I had tried them out much earlier in the race!
cheers,
