Now what do I do?
Trail Running Series is over.
Last night was the final installment of the Montrail Fall Trail Running Series. Good turnout with 52 people completing 4 out of the 6 weeks to qualify for the raffle. Good stuff.
But, now what do I do? I definitely need something to motivate me. I don't see myself doing "speed work" one day a week just to say I did it. Not likely. The series was such a great way for me to get my butt in gear. I'm going to have to find a race or two this fall just to keep me motivated. Anyone know any good 5ks this fall?
I can't believe I'm asking that. Shouldn't I be fattening myself up for a long winter's nap?

Ryan,
Start getting ready for ski season with nordic walking/ski striding! Borrow a pair of poles from Great Glen Outfitters Shop and once or twice a week, go out for your runs with the poles. Use them primarily on the uphills like you would in a diagonal stride. Your heartrate will likely zoom upward with the increased numbers of muscles being engaged over running. When the snow falls, you'll be better prepared for xc skiing than if you had done all your running pole-less.
Have fun!

Sue - Are you trying to say that my upper body is not completely jacked? I'm shocked! (In other words, good idea.)
Great Glen Trails has a micro-hydro generation station on site that supplies about 20% of our electrical needs.
