Repairs on the 6 Mile

Movin' on up.

Thanks to some good weather, the Road Crew has been able to make good progress on the repairs on the 100-yard stretch of 6 Mile that I reported on last week. Things are starting to really come together.

We still have some work to polish off this section, so we won't be able to get open this weekend. Plus, there are still some ice patches along the 7 mile and near the summit. Yup, I said ice. It's Mt. Washgton, remember? Anyway, if things remain smooth (fingers crossed), we'll be able to open to the summit for Memorial Day weekend. That's the plan, right now, but as you know: things can change. Be sure to check back for all the latest.

If your itching to get up the mountain, don't forget, we're still open to treeline. The views in the Great Gulf Wilderness were pretty sweet today!

Ryan, Keep doing what you're doing. I can't explain what a kick your little videos are for me. Great video, great subject, great music. I love it!

Hey Ryan - great video! Great song too... recognized it immediately. Can't wait to drive up the mountain again next weekend, hopefully.

Glad everyone is enjoying the vids! Hopefully, the next few will be of the Road opening to the summit. Keep your fingers crossed!

The care you take with the Auto Road is a wonder. I have my fingers crossed for your suuccess in making your Memorial Day Weekend target. The new snow probably added more work so we are all getting a bit anxious about it. How is it going up there and can you tell if Memorial Day weekend is still possible? Best of Luck! Rob :-)
