Wa-hoo!

Skiing in circles. Fun? Um...yeah!

Today was the day, my first ski of the season.  I unzipped my ski bag and took out the Atomics, I would have scraped the storage wax off too, IF I had been diligent in the spring.  I know better, and do not recommend neglecting your skis.  However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that what ever wax I had on there, had good glide.   Due to some of my co-workers’ long laborious hours, we have snow to ski on.  Although it is not appropriate for a sprint race (unfortunately), it is perfect for that first ski!    Sue and Howie were already skiing when I got out there and each time we’d pass we would flash each other a huge grin.  Yeah, my shins hurt and I might be slightly out of shape but it felt so good to be gliding on snow again.  Upon the end of my outing I placed my skis back into the ski bag, with just a little dusting of snow on the top sheet…lovin’ it!

It was also the first day for me, too. (Amy, sorry we didn't wave more vigorously as you drove by, but the sun was in our eyes!) My shins are in the same boat. But, it was awesome to be out there. I can't belive how much panting I did in only 45 minutes of skiing!
