Global Warming

I know folks are saying they are enjoying the warmer November we have had so far, not having my heat on is nice, but in northern New England it’s just not right.

I know folks are saying they are enjoying the warmer November we have had so far, not having my heat on is nice, but in northern New England it’s just not right. I went for a run before work (7AM) and it was already over 50F degrees. The ground was soft and I could get by with a t-shirt!  I am concerned because it is a pattern that despite controversy, forces me to acknowledge the global warming trend.  It is November 15 in northern NH and at the base of Mt. Washington, the ground is not even near being frozen.  A few weeks ago Dr. Cameron Wake Research Associate Professor at the University of New Hampshire's Climate Change Research Center was here speaking at a Cross Country Ski Area Association meeting and what he said about future winters if we do not change our ways of thinking were, well frankly, scary.  To read more about it click on the link below.

Ok, while we are now all searching for used Priuses on the web or looking into running our cars and heating our homes on vegetable oil, let’s look at NOAA’s long range forecast. It says there will be colder more seasonal temps in the coming week and a very small chance of snow tomorrow night.  So while we can start thinking and researching ways to ensure that our winters will stay as we remember them for the next generation, let’s enjoy the cold weather coming our way and be happy that a hat is required on the morning run.
