For 1st through 8th graders, the Great Glen BKL* Club is a weekly program that emphasizes the fun of skiing, making new friends, and learning and improving skiing skills.
(*BKL: Bill Koch League, a regional youth ski program, is named after Bill Koch, the first U.S. Olympic medalist in cross-country skiing.)
The Club meets Sunday afternoons from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
Head Coach: Sue Wemyss, Great Glen Ski School Director, 1984 Olympian, over 25 years teaching & coaching skiers

- Hunts & Obstacle courses
- Junior Sprints
- Relay races
- Ski jumping
- Ski care clinics
- Optional participation in the New England BKL Festival
Sundays beginning December 15th. (no BKL on December 29th)

Sat & Sun Feb. 29th & Mar. 1st - New England BKL Festival, Great Glen Trails,
Performance Skills Program: BKL leader and Head Coach Sue Wemyss offers advanced technique instruction in a series of four one-hour sessions to interested 7th & 8th grade Club members (6th graders with special permission). These skiers meet at 2:30 pm; 2020 dates are TBD. Both classic and skate techniques are practiced. There is an additional charge of $30 for participation in this program.
*Club Dues: $50 first child, $40 additional child(ren); Includes BKL membership with the New England Nordic Ski Association.
*Season pass or afternoon trail pass: $5 per session
*Equipment rental if needed: $5 per session
**Please note Great Glen’s winter season pass policy: When an adult purchases a winter season pass, that adult’s children aged 17 and under can get their season pass for free. Season passes purchased before December 1 are eligible for special discounting of the regular season pass rate.
Additional Benefit: Club members receive the team discount rate (20% off) for in-stock children’s ski equipment at Great Glen Outfitters.
