Moonlit Snowshoe Tour

back to topThis tour is full. The next tour is Saturday February 18, they fill quick so make your reservations soon! Experience the wonder of a winter walk on the moonlit snow. Join an AMC Naturalist Guide on a guided full moon snowshoe walk. We will use our senses (and no flashlights) to navigate the trails. We will listen for owls calling and explore out senses as we explore the winter landscape by light of the full moon.

back to topIn conjunction with the Appalachian Mountain Club, Great Glen Trails offers you the chance to really get to know Pinkham Notch. When you ski with a naturalist, you will learn about the flora and fauna that make our corner of the world so special. You’ll scout for tracks in the snow. You’ll learn about the different trees in the Glen. You’ll listen for distinct bird calls. You’ll truly begin understand how the ecosystem works in Pinkham Notch. Free with a trail pass.

Performance Group 9:30-10:30 am
Recreation Group 10:45-11:45 amSkiing for fabulous women! A weekly ski class for women emphasizing instruction and fun. The Performance Group is geared toward those who are already solid in their basic cross country skiing skills, and are looking to make technical improvements for more efficiency and/or faster speed. The Recreation Group also receives instruction, working on basic skills and becoming more comfortable in varying terrain. Both classes are led by Great Glen’s Ski School Director and Olympian, Sue Wemyss. Participants should have some prior cross country skiing experience, have an interest in learning and improving, and have the desire to be part of a fun and supportive group.
